Versioning / Monitoring SCCM Task Sequences – Update for SCCM 2012
Update 14.09.2023: Updated the link to GitHub. Tested the script on Configmgr CB (2207) and it’s still working as intended.
Back in May this year I released a small tool that monitors and tracks all changes on Task Sequences on your SCCM Server and exports a copy for backup purposes each time a change happens.
Today I just published an updated version of this script, that enables the same functionality for System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.
Please have a look on the original Blog Post for some further reference about the usage etc.
Find the updated Download on GitHub.
Hi Mark, I’ve just your book, that you wrote with Johan, and in one of his conference, he mentionned your script/monitor for task sequences, but I can’t seem to find your updated version for sccm 2012. I look at this post (
https://maikkoster.com/versioning-monitoring-sccm-task-sequences-update-for-sccm-2012/), It pints me to
http://mdtcustomizations.codeplex.com/releases/view/65824, but the script only extracts and xml file.
Am I missing something?
Thks in advance and don’t hesitate if you have any questions
Hi Stephane,
the script does still work with SCCM 2012+. Yes, it only creates an xml file, so not a zipped package as the current ConfigMgr console. However I published a script that will allow you to import those xml files properly into any version of SCCM.
Please see https://maikkoster.com/importing-task-sequences-into-sccmconfigmgr/ for further information.
